Hood Canal Area Restaurant Review #1 - Robin Hood Tavern

A few of my latest Trip Advisor reviews were recently published for restaurants in the Hood Canal area.  Here is one of them.  Enjoy!

"Surprising Farm to Table PNW Cuisine”

We stayed a couple of nights at the neighboring Robin Hood Cabin resort and walked the 2 minutes to try this restaurant with our three kids. We were quite surprised to discover that this was a more upscale restaurant than we were expecting considering that the "resort" is more like a campground with mobile home trailers converted to cute and quaint cabins.

The interior is cozy though a bit more sedate than our 3 kids in their shorts and tank tops. They do offer a kids menu which is thoughtfully pasted into the front cover of a kids book so the kids had something to occupy themselves for about 3 minutes. The food took an inordinately long time to arrive especially the kids meals. I am used to the kids arriving to the table more quickly than the adults meals - it makes sense to me to keep the kids quieter and busy eating instead of the alternative.

Food was also pricier than expected for a restaurant situated on a mobile home campground but probably on par with other farm to table concept restaurants in more populated areas of the Seattle metro. This would have been a lovely romantic evening with just my husband and I but not the type of restaurant I would generally take my kids to.

I was interested in taking a cocktail back to our cabin (100 yards away) to enjoy later in the evening when the kids were asleep but was told that this was not possible due to liquor laws.

Overall the food was good but took rather long to make it to the table.
